Capcom shared their successes through the 2018 Fiscal year. As the results show, Monster Hunter World is not only the most popular game of the series but of the company altogether. Monster Hunter World has sold 7.9 Million copies, trampling even Resident Evil 5 with its 7.3 Million units.

In the home video game market, sales of more than one million units is the generally accepted standard for a major hit. Since Capcom’s inception, we have created many of these titles, including Street Fighter and Resident Evil. With more than 80 titles that have sold more than one million units, Capcom stands alone in the video game industry. Monster Hunter: World is an open world action RPG game developed and published by Capcom for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It is the fifth instalment in the Monster Hunter franchise. The game has much larger maps, seamless transitions between locations and offers four-player co-op mode. The players take on roles of Hunters, whose missions are to hunt down and either kill or capture large monsters for study.
