Capcom shared their successes through the 2018 Fiscal year. As the results show, Monster Hunter World is not only the most popular game of the series but of the company altogether. Monster Hunter World has sold 7.9 Million copies, trampling even Resident Evil 5 with its 7.3 Million units.
In the home video game market, sales of more than one million units is the generally accepted standard for a major hit.
