My Lovely Wife just kicked off a beta test last night and the visual novel might be bringing a very different guest to your festive cheers.
Publisher Neon Doctrine just kicked off beta testing for its very different dating experience, My Lovely Wife. Developed by indie outfits GameChanger and Toge Production, the upcoming narrative adventure is allowing players to request access to the ongoing beta test via steam and kicking off a Winter Bloodbath event too. My Lovely Wife might not immediately sound like a particularly unique adventure, but this visual experience takes the usually upbeat backdrop of many indie dating experiences and draws down a veil of grief.
The assuredly oddball but definitely mature subject matter finds players facing the sudden death of their in game wife and this grief pushes the main protagonist to some rather unexpected ends for the sake of love. Empowered to summon dozens of succubi by a mysterious man, players will work to make the fiends from beyond this real fall madly in love with you so you can sacrifice them for your wife’s return. Besides the horror tinged theme and the obvious moral dilemmas, My Lovely Wife mixes in a distinct visual style, alchemy mixing, management strategies, and ritualistic sacrifice. If Monster Prom was your thing or Sucker For Love seems a bit upbeat then definitely check out the far more mature take on supernatural first dates.
