Neo: The World Ends With You Playing On PS4 in July

Neo: The World Ends With You, the cult classic RPG set in Shibuya, is set to land on Sony’s PlayStation 4 on 17 July 2021.

Just announced over on a PlayStation Blog, the news that The World Ends With You series is coming to PlayStation 4 will hopefully be something of a delight for fans of the cult classic JRPG or those who have heard the hype but haven’t had a chance to play the long standing anime adventure. Originally a Nintendo DS title, The World Ends With You is now followed by a different, yet very familiar, adventure with this PlayStation port.

After an initial 2020 announcement by Square Enix, Neo: The World Ends with You kicks off this follow up to the original and takes place in Shibuya, one of Tokyo’s busiest consumer hubs. Alongside the familiar crosswalks, stations, and department stores that litter the skyline, players will compete in the Reaper’s Game, fighting against the Noise in battle. You and your allies will scan the anime inspired backdrops to read people’s thoughts and search for noise to fight. Dropping into battle looks simple enough to control, but this attack mode mixes a bunch of allies with over 300 potential abilities. Everything from basic smash and grab to heals and debuffs are available to help you overcome your opponents. This combat isn’t anything like Square’s more recent shooter, Outriders.

There’s plenty more information on the upcoming arrival of Neo: The World Ends With You on PlayStation platforms over on the official PlayStation blog post. If you’d rather see this anticipated follow up in full flow then check out the trailer above and head over to the PlayStation Store where pre orders are open if you’re certain that you’re spending your summer in Shibuya.
