Netflix, the online TV streaming service, has just launched its very own online gaming library as part of its subscription service.
While plenty of Netlfix subscribers are still hooked on the pop culture craze that is Squid Game, the online streaming giant is looking to diversify its online options with a different type of recreation today. Netflix just announced the launch of its own video game library, and it will come bundled with your Netflix subscription. While we knew this was on the horizon, after testing began on during August, Netflix is now pressing play on a mobile gaming platform with a select set of games with a distinctly Netflix theme.
As of today, gamers with a paid up Netflix account can get hold of Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, and Teeter Up. These 5 titles are intended to be the start of the Netflix library and will bring a variety of experiences toon the go gaming.
you can start from scratch or an immersive experience that lets you dig deeper into your favorite stories, we want to begin to build a library of games that offers something for everyone. We’re in the early days of creating a great gaming experience, and we’re excited to take you on this journey with us. – Mike Verdu, VP of Game Development.
While we’re still making our way through the available titles to get our take, we do already know that Stranger Things 3: The Game launched across PC, console, Android, and iOS back in 2019 giving gamers a retro tie in for the eponymous screen adventure. It was de listed from Steam back in August 2021, so now we know why. Netflix has promised this is only the beginning, and while I don’t expect to see more episodes of Bandersnatch any time soon, the recent acquisition of night School Studios, which developed Oxenfree, suggests that there are plenty more mobile games in the works from Netflix. To check out the games on offer, head into your phone and load up Netflix now. It will likely give you something to while away the time until the League of Legends tie in, Arcane debuts in a few days. Watch and play away on the Netflix website now.
