Developer Dream Harvest has announced Neuronet: Mendax Proxy, a brand new Cyberpunk tale, set to upload in Q1 2022.
While a certain big-budget Cyberpunk title is still facing a rough time of things on last-generation consoles, it seems indie outlets are revelling in the genre. Award-winning studio Dream Harvest has announced yet another near-future dystopia is set to land on your hard drive next year, titled Neuronet: Mendax Proxy. This narrative-driven adventure still manages a twist of its own in a heavily saturated market, putting players in the role of a city spanning AI.
Charged with managing a city-wide augmented reality network known as the “NeuroNet”, players will interact with an entire city full of citizens with their own wants and needs. 23 different characters will cross players pathways through this visual novel. Each comes fully voice acted with an array of unique story events, endings and narrative arcs that could go a number of ways. In order to keep the city around these citizens in check, you’ll need to do more than placate some egos. Throughout the Neuronet, you’ll balance the city’s financial prosperity, how the public perceives you, the axis of order, and your degree of influence.
As this hyper-intelligent AI interacts with these NPCs, you might learn what it is to be a human in a society losing itself to the all-consuming lure of technology. Over 6 hours of gameplay and 5000 original story events should make for plenty of replayability and a few surprises when Neuronet boots up onto Steam and Epic next year.
