New Game Releases for March 27th to April 1st

Baseball, snakes, heroes, and more...

Hello again, world. This week’s new release celebrate the beginning of Spring with none other than MLB The Show 17 (with Ken Griffey Jr!) on the PS4, plus a few other little tidbits that might be worth mentioning. Or as I call it, the calm before Persona 5 (which is due out the following week). Read on! Here are the new game releases March 27th to April 1st.

New Game Releases March 27th to April 1st

MLB The Show 17 – PS4 on March 28th

The most recent release of Sony’s venerable MLB franchise, and indeed probably the only baseball game worth playing this summer, it brings with it a host of RPG like features as you raise your own player through the minors and into the big leagues. Oh, also? It’s got Ken Griffey Jr. who basically made me fall in love with baseball and baseball videogames on the SNES.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix – PS4 on March 28th

The high definition re-reases of Kingdom Hears 1 and 2 hit the PS4 this week, in another hope for Square Enix to make you forget that they still haven’t put a firm release date on Kingdom Hearts 3…

Dark Souls III: The Ringed City DLC – XB1, PC, PS4 on March 28th

Like dying? Boy, will you be happy this week! The incredibly excellent Dark Souls III gets its Ringed City DLC this week adding a whole host of new bosses and areas to the game. It’s available on all platforms.

Vikings: Wolves of Midgard – XB1, PC, PS4 on March 28th

Like Diablo? Like Vikings? Then you’ll probably like Vikings: Wolves of Midgard which launches this week across XB1, PC, and PS4. We even reviewed it here, if you’re keen to find out what our own Suzie Ford thought.

Thimbleweed Park – PC and XB1 on March 30th

I’m going to be honest. I have no idea what this is. Here’s the official synopsis – Thimbleweed Park is the curious story of two washed up federal agents called in to investigate a dead body found in the river just outside of town, bloated and pixelated from a death come too soon.

Has Been Heroes – PC, Switch, XB1, and PS4 on March 28th

Easily one of the best new games to launch on the Switch, this RPG Roguelike is what would happen if Darkest Dungeon, PVZ, and FTL had a baby. It launches on Switch, PC, XB1, and PS4 this week.  We reviewed it here!

Snake Pass – Switch, XB1, PC, PS4 on March 28th

Last but certainly not least is Snake Pass – the platform puzzler from Sumo Digital. It’s an Xbox Anywhere game (playable on Win10 and XB1 with one purchase) takes advantage of the PS4 Pro, and is one of the first platformers out on the Switch. It’s a physics based game where you play, you guessed it, a snake. It looks pretty rad, so check out the trailer below.
