Red Dead Online players who are spoiling for a fight will definitely want to check in this week to try out four brand new Showdown maps in the Featured Series. Each map challenges players to take on other cowpokes in a battle to the death beginning with “a fistful of Throwing Knives”, though that changes as the battle progresses and players pick up Shotguns to make takedowns all the faster. All Showdown mode battles will also give players Double XP from now through April 13th.
The new maps are:
- Overrun in Pike’s Basin – “Capture and retain the most territories to win.”
- Plunder in Stillwater Creek – “Take control of unclaimed loot and return it to your team’s base.”
- Spoils of War in Roanoke Valley – “Defend your stockpile from enemies while stealing from them at the same time.”
- Up in Smoke in Kamassa River – “Carry and deliver packages to your enemies camp.”
In addition to the new Showdown maps, players will also be able to wrangle up Double XP in all races. This includes completing a single Daily Challenge for three days in a row. Once done, players bring home a gift box that can contain a bevy of goodies including 10 Special Health Cures, 10 Special Miracle Tonics, 10 Special Snake Oils, and 20 Incendiary Buckshot Slugs.
Lastly, and maybe more importantly, all players who log into RDO before April 14th will bring home 5 free Gold Bars.
