New Star GP just got off the grid and into Early Access today.
It’s go time for retro racer New Star GP. The hard-edged high-speed motorsport simulator is now available via Steam Early Access. Your place on the grid will cost a mere $17.99 / £14.99 / €17.49 or local equivalent and will give players the option to pay through the first tracks in an ongoing drive towards launch. Anybody picking up the first iteration of tis title will also get a n exclusive, FREE body-shell. The Lucas 05 body-shell is a cool cosmetic exclusive that harkens back to an iconic era of racing.
For anybody that didn’t catch the grid walk pre-release, don’t worry. The entire project hasn’t even made the first corner yet. The biggest title by new tar by some size, this racing sim is a throwback to classic motorsport arcade adventures. . Mixing up to date design and play styles, it is covered in a gorgeous retro aesthetic. Featuring fast action and incredible competition, players can strap in for Career Mode and drive into the modern age. Starting in the 80’s, the entire schedule moves towards the future. Racers can take this time to work through decades of racing while upgrading cars and their support teams.
The initial Early Access version has races set in both the 80’s and the 90’s, containing 56 individual race events taking place in iconic venues like Brisbane, Quebec and Côte D’Azur. This will expand as the title lurches into new updates and makes it to full launch day. For those that want to try something that isn’t a full-time job, New Star GP will also feature high scoring Championship Mode. Split-screen with up to three friends or solos coring will be on offer for these races. All of this is available today, and looks likely to provide more racing time than the similar Formula Retro Racing.
