Amazon Game Studios has sent out the latest game update for its hit MMO New World. Players can find a number of endgame changes, new quests, and the first-annual Winter Convergence Festival.
Marked by increased snowfall and Northern Lights in the sky, Winter Convergence is a time of dichotomy and duality as the Winter Wanderer and Winter Warrior come to the land.
While within the settlements gifts are exchanged to mark the passing of the year, outside the safety of the walls a wintry war rages between the positive forces of Winter (slumber, perseverance) championed by the Winter Wanderer’s positive side and the negative forces of Winter (death, stagnation) championed by the Winter Wanderer’s negative side.
To make it worse, the Winter Warrior and his Frigid Folk are causing mayhem throughout the land – attempting to spread the dreaded “Forever Winter”.
The Winter Convergence Festival, or WCF, will run from now through January 11th. Through a series of repeatable quests that will lead them to newly-arrived ice caves that will persist after WCF ends. Completing quests will earn players Winter Tokens that will be tradeable for goodies from a special vendor. In addition, they will have a chance to earn new armor, weapons, and more while simultaneously trying to stop the Winter Warrior.
Each day of WCF, players will want to head to any of Aeternum’s settlements to find the Tree of Light. When there, three gifts can be picked up that will provide players with a host of handy items. As the town’s tree is upgraded by completing Town Project quests, better daily rewards will be offered.
