Amazon has announced that its much-delayed MMORPG New World will be entering an open beta phase of development in mid-September. Those who are still on the fence about whether or not to purchase the game will have an opportunity to try it out from September 9th to September 12th ahead of its September 28th release date. To entice players to join in the fray, Amazon released a brand new trailer called “Chart Your Fate” that promises to take players from “shipwrecked castaway to legendary hero”.
Explore a thrilling, open-world MMO filled with danger and opportunity where you’ll forge a new destiny for yourself as an adventurer shipwrecked on the supernatural island of Aeternum. Endless opportunities to fight, forage, and forge await you among the island’s wilderness and ruins. Channel supernatural forces or wield deadly weapons in a classless, real-time combat system, and fight alone, with a small team, or in massed armies for PvE and PvP battles—the choices are all yours.
Features include:
- Create the destiny you want
- Discover Aeternums mysteries and magic
- Use swords, guns, and sorcery to achieve your goals
- Join with others to defeat formidable foes
Amazon has been plagued with NW delays. The MMO was originally scheduled to be released in August 2020 but with the development complexities incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was delayed to Spring 2021, then August 2021, before finally settling on September 28, 2021.
Preorders for the game are open and you can find out more by visiting the New World official site.
