Due to the rumors of Amazon’s MMORPG New World releasing in May, Game Director Scot Lane addressed the community in a short video to reveal that the entire team had to transition to working remotely due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The situation has exposed some problems that the team is still working through.
As a result, the team decided to make the difficult decision of pushing New World’s launch date to August 25th, 2020. Between now and the new release date the team will be hard at work to ship the game at the highest possible quality.
