Amazon Game developers took to the airwaves to spend time with the New World community to chat about what’s coming soon. The 24-minute video covers a number of topics, including what’s happening in December, and offers fans a peek into the 2023 roadmap. With ugly holiday sweaters galore, the team offers new insight into Amazon’s signature MMO.
Players will be happy to hear that the Winter Convergence Festival is making its return in December 2022. Players will be able to visit appropriately holiday-themed towns and villages to take part in chilly winter fun. Up to 20 players can take part in fighting The Winter Warrior, a new world boss just for this event. In addition, players will find the Starstone Amrine Mash-up Expedition with “new challenges and twists” when the Winter Convergence event patch launches.
Next, the community can expect to see big changes to Territories.
“New changes like War roster restrictions and Company switching cooldowns are coming to mitigate Shell Companies (multiple Companies controlled by the same players on a single World). Our goal is to allow more players to participate in Wars and prevent a handful from owning multiple territories.”
Other changes include the ability to make more recipes regardless of the Crafting Station’s tier and lower contribution requirements for Town Projects. The video offers lots more details about this much-requested feature update.
Lastly, viewers get a peek into the 2023 roadmap.
- In Spring 2023, devs have listed updates to the Empyrean Forge Expedition, Gear Set Storage System, Springtide Bloom Event, and MSQ Improvements.
- For Summer 2023, the team lists Transmog, Raid Groups, Sandworm Elite Trial, Cross World Outpost Rush, and Summer Medleyfaire Event.
- Additional things the team is working on include Heartgem Runes, QoL improvements, and Cinematics.
All in all, this month and coming months look to have exciting things in store. Check out the New World official site to see the roadmap and to learn more.
