As a part of NieR’s 10th anniversary, Square Enix has announced NieR Re[in]carnation – a mobile game developed by Applibot. The character design for the game is done by CyDesignation. There is currently very little known about the game: the teaser does not feature any possible release windows, and it is currently unknown what genre will NieR Re[in]carnation belong to. Stay tuned to find out more when Square Enix shares more details about the upcoming title!
Additionally, Square Enix revealed that the original NieR Replicant will be coming to modern platforms, namely PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The game is being developed by Toylogic under the leadership of Yoko Taro. The developers are calling new Replicant an “upgrade” compared to the old one as opposed to remaster or remake. The release window is currently unknown.
The events of NieR Replicant take place in a distant future, although before those of NieR: Automata. The protagonist, Nier, tries to find a cure for an illness known as the Black Scrawl that his younger sister Yonah got afflicted with.
Keep an eye on the official site of Square Enix to not miss any info as the developer unveils more details.
