The launch date for Harry Potter Wizards Unite may have been pushed back into 2019 but that has not stopped this magic mobile game from getting off the ground. A brand new trailer for the game has apparated onto the internet and giving us a very brief tease of this anticipated title.
Played out as footage from a generic motorway speed camera, the latest trailer for Harry Potter Wizards Unite follows a pair of delinquent brooms. Two Nimbus 2000 brooms blow past a slip road and off into the distance as the aforementioned traffic cam clocks these two riderless sticks at over 240kph. When the footage begins to playback, we get a trace of the miscreants and basis of a card. This details a name, a threat level, and a snitch seal, as part of the information. For now, there is nothing to worry about, the official log details show only stunned possums and the odd dented Roo Bar, hinting at a location in Australia.
We do not know a huge amount more about these traces yet but Harry Potter Wizards Unite takes the tagline “Magic at Large” to its logical conclusion. This Niantic mobile game is a location-based augmented reality game, inspired by J.K Rowling’s franchise. Due out in 2019, the game’s website contains the following call to arms
The alarming speed of the riderless brooms, combined with their erratic zigs and zags, suggests they are not behaving in their proper magical manner.
The Statute of Secrecy Task Force is doing everything in its power to track these rogue brooms before they are noticed by Muggle authorities. These brooms may split up in search of their natural sporting habitat, so keep an eye out around Muggle sport stadiums.
This suggests the first type of location we might see appear in the upcoming game. If you are a budding Auror or just need a little more magic in your Pikachu, head over tot he official website and sign up for beta before the 2019 launch.
