September 2022 will see something old in new form on the Nintendo Switch. Ark: Ultimate Survivor Edition will be coming out at that time. Hundreds of hours worth of content will be available including ARK: Survival Evolved with all of its expansions released to date. It is set to release at 49.99 USD.
The base game will be available with Scorched Earth right away and the rest will be released in two month increments. If you already own ARK on the Switch as of September, you will also receive the complete update for all optimizations and graphics. On top of this Studio Wildcard has contracted a third party who is writing all new from the bottom up code for ARK using Unreal Engine 4.
In a quote about the situation for the Switch, Jesse Rapczak said, “Overhauling the gameplay for ARK on Switch has been on our radar for a while and we’re happy to have found a talented team who can help us realize that vision, adding a brand new mode that lets younger players interact with the unique primordial creatures within ARK provides a depth to the experience we hope families will enjoy!”
New features include new cinematic story content, custom server support by Nitrado server networks, and a Young Explorers mode which takes you through an educational mode and allows you to learn the game as you go.
