Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot spoke with representatives of GameSpot during Gamescom 2018 and shared that the company has no plans to release a fully-fledged brand new Assassin’s Creed entry in 2019. The reason for skipping a year is the fact that Origins and Odyssey have released back to back thanks to two different development teams working on the games.
“We are not going to have a full-fledged Assassin’s next year,” said Guillemot. “It’s just because the team were working separately, [that] we have two games now, one year after the other. But next year you’re not going to have a fully fledged one.”
However, you can expect to find plenty of additional content to keep you busy with Alexios or Kassandra in Odyssey.
“When you get [Odyssey] this year, you’re going to get in for a couple of years, actually,” he said.
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is scheduled to release on October 5 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
