No more Heroes is set for a PC release this week and the Wii title is accompanied by its sequel on this platform port.
Directed, designed, and written by Goichi Suda, No More Heroes, and its sequel, are both set to cross the platform divide to PC on 9 June. This new lease of life for the cult classic follows on from No More Heroes’ original release in 2007, with the follow up dropping onto the Wii in 2010. After a significant wait, and the Travis Strikes back spin-off, fans of the two titles were able to pick up a Nintendo Switch port last year, with this news marking the duo’s first foray onto non-Nintendo systems.
As expected for this return to the world of No More Heroes, both entries get an HD remaster for their PC release, although the extent of the technical upgrades is yet to be seen. Both No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2 will launch on Steam with a 10% launch discount and the expected mature content advisory.
No More Heroes follow the escapades of an unlikely assassin, Travis Touchdown. Anybody controlling this all American Otaku will find themselves playing through an over the top training arc as they claw their way up the rankings to become the number one ranked member of the United Assassins Association. Brimming with a stylish set of adversaries and some equally silly powers, No More Heroes stands out from the high fantasy hack and slash fare that’s all too common. There’s plenty of more mundane tasks for Travis to take care of, however. Between witty quips and flashy beam katana moves, Travis spends his time taking care of part-time jobs like buying new merch, training to power up for the next ranking battle, and exploring the streets of Santa Destroy.
If nothing else, this new announcement from publisher XSEED is an opportunity to find out what Wii owners were raving about. You can find out more about the No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2 ports over on Steam now.
