If you are hoping to see Destiny 2 headed to Nintendo Switch, you’re in for bad news. At this time, there are no plans to bring Bungie’s next game to the new console.
No plans despite loving Switch
The sad answer came in response to IGN‘s question to project lead Mike Noseworthy. The Destiny 2 team was on hand last week to reveal the game to the world in addition to providing a lot of new information.
“I think it’s pretty unrealistic, given we’re an online-only game, right? I love the console, but in terms of where it’s at, I don’t want leave anyone with the possibility of, like, ‘it’s a thing we’ll consider, maybe next year.’ There’s no plans right now for Switch.”
That’s a pretty definitive answer, sad as it is for those hoping for a Switch port. Never say never, however. PC players mourned not being able to play Destiny 1 but look where we are today! Destiny 2 will be released for PlayStation 4 and XBox One as well as PC. So, who knows? Maybe Destiny 3 will arrive on Switch (if it ever happens!), right?
