If you’ve been waiting on bated breath for the release date of Pokemon Sword & Shield, have we got great news. During today’s Pokemon Direct, it was revealed that the Switch-exclusive game will be out globally on November 15th!
We learned a few other things about the games as well.
First, the game will utilize the Dynamax system that increases the size of Pokemon in battle. It can be used one time per battle and lasts for three rounds. In addition, Dynamax Pokemon are much stronger and harder to defeat.
Second, Pokemon Sword & Shield will feature Max Raids. These are similar to raids in Pokemon Go. Up to four players can take on a wild Dynamax-sized boss. These Wild Dynamax Pokemon will change based on weather and the area in which they’re found.
Lastly, the box art was shown that included both Zamazenta and Zacian. The two games can be purchased separately or in a special “dual pack” that will cost $60 for the Standard Edition.
