An Octopath PlayStation release has finally happened, bringing Octopath Traveler to Sony consoles at the same time as its sequel comes to Xbox.

Square Enix has released the wildly successful Octopath Traveler to PlayStation owners. Available right now on the PlayStation Store, this grand 2D adventure is finally playable on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 for $59.99 / £49.99 or local equivalent.

Coming to Sony consoles 6 years after it first hit the Switch, Otcopath Traveler is an epic mix of old school ideas and modern systems. Taking players on a huge adventure, this mix of HD-low poly art spans eight different quests, as gamers follow an intertwining narrative across the land of Orsterra. Across this vast world, take on story options, solve side quests, and utilize a range of powerful options to overcome huge boss battles, and save the world. While it’s taken far too long to make it to PlayStation storefronts, this is still worth a look, scoring consistently huge numbers across PC and console reviews.

Octopath II Xbox and Switch Extras

At the same time, the second in this series just came to Xbox platforms. Octopath Traveler 2 is the follow up to the original hit Octopath RPG that continues to captivate players with its unique storytelling and engaging gameplay. Set in a vast and visually stunning world, the game follows the journeys of eight new and distinct characters, each with their own stories, motivations, and abilities. Players can choose their own path and explore the interconnected narratives of these characters, making choices that impact the outcome of their individual quests and the overall storyline. With a blend of turn-based combat, strategic mechanics, and a job system that allows for deep customization of character abilities, The newest in the series offers a rich and improved gameplay experience over the original.  Now players can grab it on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Switch owners also got an update for this sequel lately. The new update adds an Extra Battle mode that unlocks once the initial run is complete. This provides even tougher boss battles for anybody who wants the biggest battles available in the series.
