Today we received a revenge of the fifth gift in the form of a House of the Dragon teaser trailer. The prequel to HBO’s Game of Throne series takes us into the past to a time when everyone is fighting over the Iron Throne, because no one ever is.
This spinoff is specifically following the Targaryens and their quest for blood and power. Right away some of you will recognize one important Timelord who has taken to a more medieval type show, Matt Smith. I think that this was a good casting choice for this show as he is a great actor. He doesn’t always get into the movies that make all of the money, but that doesn’t detract from his portrayal of the characters he plays.
“History does not remember blood. It remembers names,” the trailer voiceover said. There are early references to the Starks, Baratheons and even the Velaryons were mentioned as taking an oath to the throne. There are plenty of action shots and what we always love, scenes with dragons. I am just hoping that having fresh perspectives on this show will make it better than what we got in the last couple of seasons of GOT.
The show premieres August 21.
