Omega Update lands on Mob simulator Okhlos

It's not the Alpha anymore...

The title kind of gave it all away, but Devolver Digital’s Okhlos just saw the addition of the Omega update, and is now coining itself Okhlos Omega. New features, new content, and tons of bug fixes all highlight the fact that this surprisingly addictive (review forthcoming, hint-hint) little gem is now 50% off on Steam and GOG. It was also recently available in the Humble Store as part of the Monthly subscription, but chances are you’re reading this too late. Ha, sucks to be you.

From the press release’s juicy bits:

Okhlos Omega strictly adheres to historical fact as players step into the sandals of ancient Greek philosophers and lead angry mobs of irate citizens, warriors, and livestock in an effort to bring down the oppressive gods of mythological Greece. Recruit, craft, and upgrade mobs of all sizes to take down everything from minotaurs and cyclops to ancient temples and the mighty Olympians themselves.

“The Okhlos community is small but enthusiastic and our team has worked tirelessly since launch to refine the game based on their feedback,” said Coffee Powered Machine artist Roque Rey. “Our hope is that a whole new segment of gamers find Okhlos Omega and share the joy that our fans have found in the game through all the new additions and polish.”

Our thoughts?

This game just keeps getting better with every update. It’s often overlooked because of its pixel style, but don’t let that deter you. There are few games as original and fun as Okhlos, so definitely keep an eye on it after this Omega Update.  It’s currently sitting at an overly positive rating on Steam in recent reviews as well. So there’s that, if you’re big on such things. Here’s a brand new trailer to show off the totally serious game’s new content:
