Middle-earth: Shadow of War is the star of a new trailer featuring a look at the open world. Viewers will see the spotlight shine on well-known locations including Gorgoroth and the Island of Nurn.
How open is the open world?
If one can judge by images in a trailer, the game world looks huge. Fighting in Cirith Ungol or walking on the Island of Nurn seems to show off a massive world.
This is the first time that we’ve managed to get a look at the world as seen by developer Monolith. They are not only looking to make the world bigger, but to also provide a “richer, more personal and expansive world” for players to adventure through.
The player uses their combined abilities to complete various missions, typically aimed to disrupt the armies of Sauron. The game expands upon Shadow of Mordor‘s Nemesis system to apply to a larger part of the world, including other characters called Followers that have behavior guided by how the player-character has interacted with them.
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is set for release in August for PlayStation 4, XBox One and PC. You can learn more on the official site.
