Counter-strike: Global Offensive has been updated with a brand new in-game event called Operation Riptide. The new event is currently underway and it features an overhauled mission system, new ways to play a variety of game modes, and a number of rewards. Rewards can include new agents, weapon collections, stickers, and patches. Players will need to own a copy of the base game and can purchase the Operation Riptide event pack for $14.99 on Steam.
Here are a few of the details about CS:GO Operation Riptide:
- Each week, players will receive a mission card with a number of missions to complete in any order. These can be completed in Casual, Competitive, Danger Zone, and Guardian.
- Players can now join a Private Queue to play in Premier matches on Valve servers.
- As players complete mission card activities, they will earn stars that can be used to purchase all sorts of great stuff: “Spend your stars on rewards of your choice. Operation rewards feature all-new Agents, including the Guerilla Warfare Terrorists, CT SEAL team “Frogmen” and the French Gendarmerie. New items include the Operation Riptide Case, four new weapon collections, two operation-themed sticker collections, and Operation patches.”
- New missions types include Carve Your Own Path, Race to the Finish, and Up for a Challenge.
