Outriders, the upcoming super powered sci-fi adventure from People Can Fly and Square Enix, just revealed Expeditions.
Billed as post-campaign content for this stunning looking RPG styled shooter, Expeditions got their first outing yesterday as Square Enix gave us all a glimpse of what to expect when we’ve finished blasting our way through the story campaigns in Outriders. Designed to challenge event eh sot accomplished and skilled Outrider, Expeditions challenge anybody tough enough to battle through a series of intense missions to unlock the most powerful gear available to Outriders.
“Expeditions expand on the story of the OUTRIDERS campaign and features the toughest challenges in the game. They’re meant to be played with a team of skilled and coordinated Outriders,” said Bartek Kmita, Creative Director of OUTRIDERS at People Can Fly. “Powerful equipment and efficient character builds, along with true skill and mastery over your class, are necessary to succeed and reach the highest levels of Expeditions.”
Alongside the description and blurb above, Square and People Can Fly dropped two teasers for Expeditions. The stand-alone content update for the end game mode can be glimpsed above, while the fourth Outriders Broadcast, think Cyberpunk’s Night City Wire style pre-release preview, gives away a few more bits of detail on the matter. It dives into some of the available equipment, the levelling system, and give’s players a quick look at some of the 13 different locations that you’ll get to explore as you progress through this end game content. Yes, it sounds a lot like pickup dungeons, but World of Warcraft has been doing a stellar job at using dungeons to keep players entertained for years. Done right, it could be a winner. Outriders has definitely got our attention and when it lands on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on February 2nd, 2021, we will be ready to crash land on an alien planet and gain some serious superpowers.
