The Overwatch team published a new developer update video for July 2019, featuring Game Director Jeff Kaplan talking about the changes to the release schedule, incoming quality of life features and more.
- The things will be done differently this summer in Overwatch. Summer Games are coming back, and it will happen much sooner than you think! There will be more info on that soon so stay tuned.
- For each of the 3 weeks that the Summer Games event is live, there will be a weekly mini-challenge that allows you to unlock a special Epic Skin.
- The team is working on a new hero #31, and he is going to be awesome. But like many other awesome things, it would require a bit of a wait.
- The team is testing improved detection for cheating, and the system will automatically shut down a match where cheating is happening with nobody on either side being penalized for the shutdown.
