Continuing on with the Blizzard’s comics-related news, the company has also presented the 13th comic for its co-op shooter Overwatch. It focuses on the latest character to join the game, Doomfist. The comic shows him interact with Gabriel Reyes aka the Reaper and discuss other members of the Talon as well as their operations.
You can find the comic on the official Overwatch page or read its animated version on Mediafire. Doomfist will join the roster of Overwatch heroes on July 27. Check out the trailer below to learn more about the character!
Who is Doomfist?
His cybernetics make him a highly-mobile as well as powerful front line fighter. In addition to dealing ranged damage with his Hand Cannon, he can slam the ground, knock enemies into the air and off balance, or charge into the fray with his Rocket Punch. When facing a tightly packed group, he leaps out of view, then crashes down to earth with a spectacular Meteor Strike.
You can check out his abilities and a short biography on the character’s page.
Michael Chu, Blizzard senior designer, spoke with Gamespot about the choice of the character’s voice actor. Many fans were surprised when the character spoke with the voice of Sahr Ngaujah over Terry Crews:
We love Terry. Terry’s awesome. He came and visited us. We had a great time. But when we were looking for Doomfist, we were looking for something very specific given his role in the game and everything. When we were early in the audition process, we heard Sahr, who’s the actor who plays Doomfist, and he just blew us away immediately. Once we heard his voice, it was like, ‘Holy crap. That’s Doomfist.’
