Path of Exile 2 – Early Access Starts on November 15

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, the developers of Path of Exile 2 have revealed the Early Access date. Mark your calendars: a new adventure begins November 15! Coming from Grinding Gear Games, PoE2 is a next generation free-to-play action RPG, featuring co-op for up to six players.

The events of the game take place years after those of its predecessor. Players will need to return to the dark world of Wraeclast to fight against the spreading corruption in a brand-new campaign with six acts. The developers tease 100 distinct environments, 600 monsters and 100 bosses to test your mettle.

There are twelve character classes to choose from, two for every combination of Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence. But that’s just the starting point: you can combine skills from many classes together to create your ideal character build. Each of the twelve character classes has its own three Ascendancy specialisations, resulting in a total of 36 Ascendancy Classes to pick between.

PoE2 players are also in for new Skill Gem system, Dual-specialization of the Passive Skill Tree, all-new items, unique bosses, and much more. The developers stress that PoE2 will remain fair-to-play and never pay-to-win:

“Path of Exile 2 is a separate game to the original Path of Exile. We will continue to offer expansions for both games going forward. They are completely free-to-play and will never be “pay to win”. Purchases are shared between the two games.”
