Persona for PC and Online RPG Fun Too? Sign Us Up!

Recently, Atlus sent out its annual survey to Japanese fans. That in and of itself is fairly lackluster news. However, there is a block of questions that is causing much twitterpation across the interwebz.Hidden among the usual sorts of things you’d expect are several questions about the Persona series.

Atlus chose this survey to ask players if they would like to see the series expanded to include different types of experiences such as a shooter or a strategy game. The option for an online RPG is the one that seems to have sent fireworks lofting skyward. Lastly, the fans were asked if they’d like to see any or all of these iterations of the series come to PC and / or whether some of the older series titles should be ported to PC.

Persona Questionnaire 1

According to PC Gamer, the move to PC isn’t all that surprising. After all, just last year, Sega and Atlus said that the series was one the companies would like to bring to PC. It’s already done so in high fashion with the Shin Megami Tensei series.

The latest game, Persona 5, has been hugely successful, selling well over two million copies on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.

Persona 5

Here’s a bit from our recent 9.5 review:

There is so much to talk about with Persona 5, particularly with its story, but to do so beyond what we’ve already covered would be spoilerish. I’ll add this: Persona 5 easily captured me more than Persona 4, a game that is likewise revered and whose story I adored. Like P4G, however, P5’s is a story that lives on its characters. In the beginning, they seemed like stereotypes, but soon layers began to unfold, and now, they feel like real people. Persona 5 allows characters and relationships to unfold naturally; it doesn’t rush anything, and the game is better for it.
