SEGA has announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 is now available as a free to play title on Xbox One in North America. Players can download PSO2 via the Microsoft Store and get started on their adventures in this “online action RPG” with a sci-fi twist.

In addition to the news about Xbox One, SEGA also announced that the PC version of PSO2 will arrive in North America in late May. It will come with cross-play between XB1 and PC at that time.

The North American version of the game features a fully localized text with English voice-overs. All three years of content are included in the NA launch including the “immersive original PSO2 story”. Developers have also taken a pass at the game’s balance and deployed a number of quality-of-life improvements as part of the NA version.

In PSO2, players can choose from four races and nine classes, each bringing its own unique style to battle. There are missions to complete, quests to run and more. “They can also take a break from questing by playing one of the many Casino mini-games, chilling in the Alliance Quarters, or attending all-new live stage events.”

To celebrate the game’s launch on Xbox One, developers are running a number of events with some sweet loot for participation. Details on this and all of the above can be found by visiting the Phantasy Star Online 2 official site.
