Philips M5000 Monitor Range Ready Up For Work And Play

Philips’ just announced the new M5000 monitor range, a duo of displays that look set to keep uptr beyond the 9-5.

With the rigors of the home office seamlessly combining with my own gaming desktop these days, it’s no wonder Philips has revealed the M5000 series. This set of new desktop displays is aiming to give the display and lighting specialist a foothold in your gaming space, with enough options to survive a day at work before competing with anything your PC can throw at it.

27M1N5200PA

The 27M1N5200PA might not have the snappiest of names, but this 27 inch Full HD panel provides an excellent picture, backed by a Fast IPS panel that should be able to keep up when you’re transported to another world. Log into an arena battler and the 27M1N5200PA is unlikely to miss a frame with a 240Hz refresh rate, a 1 ms GtG pixel response time, great viewing angles, and 400 nits of brightness.

32M1N5800A

The 32M1N5800A is an entirely different proposition. This huge 4K screen might only top out at 144Hz over HDMI 2.1 but the visuals should be incredible. This option is less about speed and all about making an impression. The admittedly spritely 1 ms GtG is backed by low input lag and Adaptive Sync to keep the picture smooth. However, the UltraClear 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution, Vesa DisplayHDR 400 certification, and a wide color gamut mean this display is likely to be the center of your desk for some time to come. After taking over that space this should still prove useful when not hooked up to a console, with the inclusion of MultiView to allow connecting multiple sources in PbP mode.

Both displays come with a ton of other features, and if you’ve seen our recent Philips Momentum review then you can expect similarly impressive options. The Philips 27M1N5200PA is already available at the MSRP of £319.99 while the Philips 32M1N5800A is available from March 2022 at the MSRP of £759.99.
