Phoenix Labs, the team behind Dauntless, has posted a brand new blog that lays out some key changes coming to the Hunt Pass system. Most notably, the team announced that players will be able to earn back 100% of the platinum spent to purchase a premium Hunt Pass simply by completing it throughout any given season.
When we first added Hunt Passes to Dauntless, we wanted them to be a way for Slayers to step into seasonal cosmetics at a significant discount — just by playing the game and leveling up their pass. Over the last three years, we’ve made various changes to Hunt Passes to increase their engagement and overall value. Some changes – like offering 100% platinum back upon completion of the Hunt Pass – were very well-received, while others – like moving armor sets out of the free track – were not.
Other changes coming to the Hunt Pass:
- After the May 26th Hunt Passes debut, players will be waiting a while before new ones are issued that will include changes.
- Classic rewards will be making a comeback
- Reward caches will be filled with items from past seasons
- Hunt Passes that are purchased are a player’s to keep forever without any expiration
- Two types of Hunt Pass
- cosmetic Hunt Pass which is the “regular” version with 30 levels
- Slayer’s Commission Hunt Pass with 100 levels including a free track and a paid track
