Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire - Nintendo Switch Version Has Been Cancelled

Publisher Versus Evil has announced via the official Discord server that Obsidian’s CRPG Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is no longer coming to Nintendo Switch. The first game of the series is available on the console as a part of Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition, released in 2019.

“Unfortunately, after much deliberation, we have decided not to move forward with Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire for the Nintendo Switch.”

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is the sequel to Obsidian’s hit cRPG Pillars of Eternity released in 2015. The Watcher of Caed Nua continues to meddle in divine matters. With a part of the protagonist’s soul woven into the awakened deity, you have no choice but to board the defiant and chase the rogue god.

Captain your ship on a dangerous voyage of discovery across the vast unexplored archipelago region of the Deadfire. Bend the world to your will, as you explore the depths of infinite possibilities, including detailed character customization, total freedom of exploration, and more meaningful choices at every turn.

Unfortunately, Deadfire did not meet the success of its predecessor, reporting poor sales and ensuring there will be no PoE3. However, if you want more of the world of Eora, the developers are working on first-person RPG Avowed.
