Planet Zoo Introduces the New Arid Animal Pack

Frontier Developments is always working hard to provide Planet Zoo players with an ever-expanding retinue of critters for their zoos. The company has introduced the community to the Arid Animal Pack, which is sure to please desert denizens with new animals, QoL updates, and more. The new content pack will arrive on June 20th and retail for $9.99 for PC via Steam.

The Planet Zoo team shared a new trailer that shows off the new animals and features found in the DLC.

With the release of the latest DLC, budding zookeepers will gain access to eight new species of animals. These include the Dromedary Camel, the African Crested Porcupine, the Black Rhino, the Addax, the Somali Wild Ass, the Sand Cat, the Dama Gazelle, and the Desert Horned Viper Exhibit.

New animal behaviors

Each new animal’s behaviors are bound to amaze guests, although they might want to keep their distance from the Dromedary Camel, which may spit if approached! Visitors can marvel at the small yet playful Sand Cat as it uses enrichment items such as the Rubbing Pads and Cardboard Box in new ways and listen as the Somali Wild Ass bray to one another. Guests can also spot the African Crested Porcupine resting near its burrow – it may even raise its distinctive quills if feeling cautious.

The DLC also brings a new Campaign Mode scenario. Tiffany Summers is ready to explore the Arabian Desert and will prove to naysayers that she can handle the heat. Players are charged with transforming her land into an animal oasis.

The community will also receive a free update alongside the paid DLC. Players will receive a range of “extras, enhancements, and quality of life updates.”
