MultiVersus, the cartoon brawler straight out of Saturday morning, is set top kick off Open Beta across Pc and console on 26 July.
Publisher Warner Brothers and developer player First games are about to invite all comers to the ring as cartoon brawler Multiverses hits Open Beta this month. Coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, and PC, this colorful fighter will plunge players into a Smash styled brawl filled with some of Warner Bros’ best loved characters. Faces from Scooby Doo, Batman, Adventure Time, Looney Tunes, and more are set to fight it out in an iconic new brawler.
As well as an all comers testing phase at the end of July, PC players will be able to get in the ring ahead of time as part of an Early Access phase, on 19 July. Anybody who participated in the MultiVersus Closed Beta test back earlier in the year will be assured an invite to this early test. Alternatively, PC players can earn a code to get fighting via Twitch Drops. We don’t have the specifics for those codes quite yet, but I would expect to find which Twitch channels to raid soon.
While we wait, Warner Bros is still peeling back more information on this incoming action. Alongside the Open beta news, potential players just got a first look at Iron Giant (The Iron Giant) who will be playable beginning July 19. Iron Giant is pulled directly from the big screen adaptation of the eponymous tale, and will be featured alongside Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn (DC); Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo); Bugs Bunny and Tasmanian Devil a.k.a. Taz (Looney Tunes); Arya Stark (Game of Thrones); Tom & Jerry (Tom and Jerry); Jake the Dog and Finn the Human (Adventure Time); Steven Universe and Garnet (Steven Universe); an extraordinary original creature named Reindog.
If that isn’t enough, fights will sprawl across a variety of backdrops and game modes. The Batcave (DC), Tree Fort (Adventure Time), and Scooby’s Haunted Mansion (Scooby-Doo) will play host to fully cross platform 2 vs. 2 team-based cooperative mode, 1 vs. 1 matches, 4-player free-for-all, co-op vs. A.I. matches, and custom online lobbies. With plenty of enthusiasm for Nickelodeon’s All-Star Brawl you might think this is something of a cash grab, but the general consensus is that despite its cartoonish quality, MultiVersus is a slick competitive brawler. Check out some of the action in the newly minted gameplay trailer above and find out more on the official website now.
