Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft’s latest entry in the Assassin’s Creed series, is currently in a bit of a bind. Players are criticizing the company for its post-launch support of the title: in the three months since its release, Valhalla has barely received new content. Meanwhile, the in-game store continues to get updates. So much so that the total number of armor sets that one can acquire in-game and buy in the store is now equal, 9 sets for each.
Comments to Zuazzer’s thread note that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the previous title in the series, had a much better post-launch support with months additions for over a year.
In December 2020, Valhalla received a free update that added a time-limited Yule Season celebration to the game. In the official roadmap for the game, Ubisoft also reveals their intent to add River Raids feature this month:
“Aside from the new skills and abilities that will be unlocked in February, 2021, a new game mode called the River Raid will keep you busy with not one, not two, but THREE new (and replayable!) maps that will be brimming with new Gear, Silver, Runes, Books of Knowledge, and much more. And you’ll want to build the new Jomsviking Hall in your expanded Settlement so that you can recruit more Jomsvikings to take with you to these River Raids.”
Previously, the company has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will receive two large story-based DLC:
- Wrath of the Druids: Journey to Ireland and unravel the mysteries of an ancient druidic cult. Fight your way through haunted forests and dazzling landscapes while gaining influence among Gaelic kings.
- The Siege of Paris: Relive the most ambitious battle in Viking history. Infiltrate the fortified city of Paris, uncover enemy secrets, and form strategic alliances to safeguard your clan’s future.
