As mentioned earlier this year, Bethesda is killing its proprietary launcher and migrating its games to Steam. The date is fast approaching when the launcher will prevent Fallout 76 players from starting the game. To get players prepped for the imminent Steam launch, developers have published a guide to getting Bethesda accounts merged with Steam accounts ahead of the May 11th shutdown. The target date for players to begin migrating their accounts is April 27th.
To entice players to get going on migrating their FO76 accounts, Bethesda is offering an incentive. Those who get the job done will earn 10 rank-ups on the Season 9 Scoreboard. This will be applied shortly after the start of Season 9 in June.
It’s worth noting that real money transactions will end starting April 27th and will not resume again until after the migration to Steam. This means that players will be unable to purchase Atoms or renew Fallout 1st memberships for about two weeks. However, those who have Atoms on their accounts will be able to use them.
There are several articles to help players get things in order. Everything is linked to the Fallout 76 official site including an updated FAQ and much more. Head on over to check it out.
