Pokemon Go to See a “Large Scale Event” Coming This Summer

According to Niantic’s Japanese Pokemon Go staff, the team is hard at work on a big event for this summer. An interview with the Japanese staff stated:

I hope you are looking forward to this huge event this Summer. Please look forward to it. Engineers are working hard now.

By all reports, the new content will arrive in July.

Pokemon Go & what the update might mean

There are several things that a “big event” could spell for the game including the much-requested PvP system, player trading or even cooperative raids. The latter is something that players have been asking for for quite some time. Niantic has promised that it is coming, hopefully as early as by the end of Spring.

Niantic will also keep pumping out the mini-events like the Easter “Egg”stravaganza that wraps up tomorrow. Each time one of these events kicks off, PG rises to the top of the charts again, though its stable player population has declined in recent months.
