Become an OG Magical Girl as Aniplex opens up registrations for Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra
An iconic name in the magical girl genre is coming to PC and mobiles soon. Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra is set to launch into action later in 2024, but Aniplex has already opened preregistrations for the upcoming anime spin off. Plunging players into a new adventure featuring a familiar face. For this outing, expect to see a girl lost in the enigmatic Lighthouse Theatre. It’s up to you to regain her name, memories, and life as a Magical Girl.
Like any decent anime spin off, the visuals for this series depict characters from the mainline Madoka series in their traditional outfits. A range of familiar faces are redarned in 3D, with intense turn-based battles against eerie monsters. Of course, being Madoka, there’s likely a horrific twist to the whole thing. So, do be prepared.
If you haven’t heard of Madoka Magica, then you’ve still got plenty of time to haul yourself over to the TV and find the original series on streaming services. Best known as an anime series, this critically applauded release is a deconstruction of traditional magical girl tropes. Originally aired in 2011, the series follows two friends as they are offered the chance to fight witches. Transformed into magical Girls, the alure and fantasy of the step isn’t all it seems, but we’re not going to spoil the twists.
