Prepare To Be Spirited Away On A Trip To Spirittea

No More Robots has just announced a brand-new adventure, just in time for a summer getaway to Spirittea.

Announced a little earlier today and due to launch on PC and console during the sunny season of 2023. Looking like a sublime mix of Ghibli inspired pixel art and a stylized Stardew Valley, Spirittea is the work of indie outfit Cheesemaster Games and published by No More Robots. After introducing players to a cute rural village full of areas to explore and NPCs to meet, things take an unexpected turn.

Upon visiting Spiritea, new citizens of this slice of life sim will drink a cup of tea that lets them see the spirit world. Now, instead of just baking cakes for Chloe and getting a horse ready for the local pet show, there are Yōkai and remnants of the other world who need help.

Thankfully, it’s not a total free for all. Wnyan, a nuisance cat spirit and faithful guide, shows our writer how many spirits need saving — and hands over the keys to an old bathhouse, where spirits go to relax. There’s plenty of time in each day to prepare the baths, upgrade, enhance, and protect the spirits who have yet to find peace. On your down time, you’ll be able to explore the lush wilderness, try out local dishes, and get to know the fleshier side of life in this beautiful town.

If you’re interested in a very different take on those Stardew style sims from a publisher behind  the excellent Yes, Your Grace then take a look at Spirittea now on the official website and check out the cute as heck reveal trailer.

For those of you who I’ve not met yet, my name is Ed. Now, you will find me squawking across a multitude of sites and even getting to play games now and then
