Nidhogg 2 has officially released on PC (Windows/MacOS) and Playstation 4 with a Nintendo Switch release to follow, but is the Xbox One that finds itself worthy of bonus content for this self-described “Tug-of-war with sharp objects” indie sequel.
In celebration, the ID@Xbox team will be hosting a launch stream on Mixer and Twitch beginning at 11:00 AM PST. To sweeten the deal even more (or lure you with into its arcane madness), Messof Games has discounted this new release by 20% ($14.99 USD) to celebrate… or to appease the fleshy wurm… one can’t be entirely sure.
Nidhogg 2 takes the formula from its ancestral beginning and enhances it with new weapon types, levels, new ways of customizing your carnage as well as fancy clothes. And all of this wrapped up in a nice, meaty package of aurally pleasing tunes by electronic artists Geotic, Doseone, Osborne, Daedelus, and Mux Mool.
Messof Games has included 1v1 combat versus AI or your friends and an eight player tournament. All of this will take place across twelve stages (two exclusive to the Xbox One) and have the ability to alter the rules of engagement with over ten game variants. Take your game online with matchmaking or keep the slaughter close to home in private games. It doesn’t matter as long as the wurm gets fed.
