Project Warlock 2, the follow up to an FPS with its own magical twist, now has a Kickstarter Campaign.
Remember when we flagged the upcoming dark magic FPS from indie studio Buckshot Software, well Project Warlock 2 just launched a Kickstarter this weekend.
Project Warlock 2, the follow up to the very first in this franchise of dark spells and demonic quests, launched a Kickstarter campaign over the weekend. With the announcement of this new adventure back in June, it seems the team behind this new title are looking for support from the existing fanbase, but probably not in the way most Kickstarter users are used to. With the release secure already, this Kickstarter campaign is less about getting Project Warlock 2 out the door and seems to be an opportunity for devoted fans to leave their mark on this mage infested FPS. The €205 goal set by the first Project Warlock crowdfunding campaign is in place again, and it’s already crushed the goal.
Now, the Kickstarter gives retro fans an opportunity to get exclusive physical goodies, leave their mark on the game, and take advantage of an attractively discounted price. Project Warlock II is coming to PC (Steam and GOG) and consoles, but backers won’t have long to wait. The game launches into Steam Early Access and GOG Games In Development shortly after the Kickstarter, with the first chapter of Project Warlock II available to play.
For those of you that missed the initial details behind this sequel, Project Warlock 2 is a retro FPS with a difference. While DOOM throwbacks play a single protagonist, this quest enters a torrent of demons and dark deities as one of three playable Warlock characters: Palmer, Urd and Kirsten—each with their own special abilities. There are still plenty of guns, and this version is set to pack more than twice the weapons, improved graphics, a new book of spells, and a pulsing metal & synth soundtrack.
You can check out the Kickstarter, and pick up your own add ons before Project Warlock 2 lands on PC.
