After some leaks were released to the net, we learned that The Last of Us Remake is coming, and sooner than we thought. It was confirmed at Summer Game Fest Live that it would be coming for both PlayStation 5 and PC. It is currently scheduled for a September 5th release date on PS5 and shortly after for PC.
According to the reports the studio has remade The Last of Us and designed it for the PS5 from the ground up. Some features include updated Artificial Intelligence, 60 FPS support, and other improvements yet to be revealed. Also revealed by Naughty Dog were details stating that they are working on a standalone multiplayer game for TLOU as well.
“We’ve implemented modernized gameplay, improved controls, and expanded accessibility options in this single-player experience to allow even more individuals to enjoy the game,” Naughty Dog said in a blog post. “Effects, exploration, and combat have all been enhanced. Leveraging the PS5’s powerful hardware, we also implemented 3D Audio, haptics, and adaptive triggers. Both returning fans and new players alike will have the opportunity to experience both The Last of Us Part I and its prequel story Left Behind in a whole new way.” The full blog post is here.
There will be several editions available at release for the PS5. The Standard edition is 70 USD, the Digital Deluxe Version is 80 USD, and the Firefly Edition is 100 USD. Each different version beyond the standard one contains different perks that would be available at the start of the game as opposed to earning them later on. The two more expensive versions also get weapons from launch as well.
