PUBG is already back for season 7 of the hit battle royale but the new trailer narrated by Jonathan Frakes might make you wonder if what you’ve experienced is fact or fiction.
You think you might know PUBG, an arena-based battler and free for all but today you learn the truth about season 7 as Bluehole drop an unexpected lore trailer for the game. The latest season of PUBG returned to the island of Vikendi when it landed. The isolated area has a very different backstory to it and the new trailer details the tragic history of this in-game arena. Once the location of a theme park called Dinoland, this island suffered some stranger than fiction events that might unsettle viewers of a delicate disposition.
Old School Shooter
Of course, it’s all total fiction but the nineties Beyond Belief style narrative that this trailer takes is an interesting take on the backdrop to yet another season of loot and shoot. We’re not going to spoil the trailer for fans of either Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds or the ex Star Trek actor. The entire mockup is a play on Frakes time hosting the TV show and comes with its own title sequence and grainy CRT overlay to boot.
Season 7 of PUBG launched back in April, with additional patches already online for the latest round of first-person survival. The Dinoland themed season added a new game mode, titled “Cold Front” which challenges players to take on some seriously chilly conditions. While arctic storms sweep through the game, players must maintain their body temperature or freeze to death between the frantic action. In addition to this, the seventh season also dropped a bunch of new cosmetics, Dinoland themed souvenirs and a new season pass for the title. While I might not be sure about the next time we’re heading on holiday right now, Dinoland is probably off the list.
