PUBG – Matchmaking System Will Consider Players’ Ping

PUBG

The developers of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds from Bluehole Studio have decided to share their plans for the game via Steam. Back in December 2017, the PUBG team announced that they were considering to introduce a maximum ping limit but the update has been delayed as the resources were focused on cheat blocking.

Now PUBG introduces an experimental method that hopefully will provide even better results:

Unlike the method considered earlier, we are going to divide the matching pool depending on ping. This means that the users with lower pings will be prioritized during matchmaking. The team is expecting to improve the overall play experience by splitting the matching pool rather than restricting connection depending on ping. Preparations are underway to test this method in some regions, with first trials planned to start this week. Specific dates will be shared when ready.

Additionally, two new crates will be released on February 22 to celebrate the beginning of the new season. Fever crate with the strong feeling of spring can be purchased with BP and unlocked with Early Bird keys. Militia crate, which will allow you to show off your combat outfit, is dropped randomly among the four existing crates, and it is free.

  1. Man, this seems like a long time coming. The server lag has been pretty good as of late, however there are times when you get that one guy who skips across your screen. I will be watching to see how this works as someone with over 700 hours in game.
