Google and Bolverk Games just released a gameplay trailer for Voice Attorney, a very different adventure that swaps the D-Pad for your own vocal patterns.
In an unexpected announcement, the latest title to come out of search giant Google is not another addition to the streaming Stadia service. Instead, the Silicon Valley tech hub just dropped a gameplay trailer for their Google Nest Hub Max. The voice assistant come speaker system might not be your first go to for gaming, but this innovative voice drama looks set to bring the courtroom action into your front room.
During the trailer, Game Director Jaime Monedero March plays through a section from the first of four cases played in the courtroom game, presenting how Voice Attorney is controlled by voice and how the player interacts with the characters, choices, and puzzles in the game.
Available now for owners of the Google Nest Hub Max, Voice Attorney seems like a sure fire hit for fans of Ace Attorney or even Mihoyo’s Tears of Themis series. You’ll be able to take centre stage in this tale of justice, screaming out your objections mid-sentence to trigger an interruption mechanic, where players cut off other character to point out their lies. During the trial at hand instruments of justice who approach the bench will find a fully voice acted title where they can ask free form questions of the defendants, thanks to Google’s Natural language Understanding tech. There will be a ton of evidence to examine on the Next Hub Max screen, and a series of episodes to play through.
Whether you actually serve justice is entirely down to you. It’s not a common thing to see a primarily VR developer craft a game for a platform like the Nest Max, but if you’re looking for something to take you away from your monitor then this is certainly worth shouting about.
