Puzzle Bobble Gets A New Dimension With Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey On The Oculus Quest

Puzzle Bobble, the arcade classic from Taito, is set to get a fresh new look as is dives into VR with Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey.

Survios and TAITO Team are might very well be about to reinvent an arcade classic as Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey arrives on the Oculus Quest and Quest 2. Available now and ready to get away form it all, bubble dragon brothers Bub and Bob are heading off to a vacation island and a new dimension of adventure. Players eager to get popping can take on a total of 100 levels of traditional action from this new point of view. Players picking up this challenge will need to keep their wits about them as they aim, match, and burst bubbles to advance through the islands, mastering each level with a 3-star ranking!

New Challenges

Earning coins during each level will allow gamers to activate power-ups and a range of smart VR interactions all of which unleash new tools and techniques to ensure the most bubbles are burst. As you might expect, this isn’t just an immersive version of the 2D classic, the VR component includes fully 3D challenges, with plenty of special bubbles and brain-teasing challenges. The newest iteration of the Puzzle Bobble experience should keep any fans playing for hours, packing in a story mode alongside more competitive configurations. Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey features a 1v1 versus mode, where the challenge is on to pop the biggest clusters and take on your friends list.

I’m not sure that Puzzle Bobble VR: Vacation Odyssey is going to quite have the same universal appeal that the more 2 dimensional versions of Bub and Bob do but this seems like a fantastic new direction to take the long running series in. As an accompaniment to Bub’s 35th Anniversary title, this is somewhat fitting too. You can get away with these two adorable dragons on Quest and Quest 2 devices now for $19.99 or local equivalent. Check out the Oculus Store for more on this bright new puzzler.
