QC Games is Closing & Discontinuing Breach

QC Games, made up from Bioware and EA veterans, released action RPG Breach into Steam Early Access in January 2019. Unfortunately, the ambitious co-op game ran into many problems and received mixed reviews on Steam.  A couple of days ago, QC Games site has been updated with a message dedicated to discontinuing Breach. According to the post, QC Games studio is closing as well.

Thank you for being a part of the Breach community. Thank you for being a part of our Technical Alpha and Early Access stages. Thank you for all the kind words of support and constructive feedback over the months, and thank you for believing in QC Games and Breach.

Unfortunately, April 3rd is the last official day for QC Games, as we begin winding down internal operations on Breach. We’re sure you have a lot of questions about Breach, your accounts, and the future of the game. Our team is still working on defining what this means for Breach and for our community, and we’ll post an updated article soon with answers to as many questions as we can cover.

Servers will remain online at this time and we will be turning off the ability to purchase both the Breach Starter Pack and in-game QC Points tomorrow (April 4th) during a maintenance period. Servers will come back online after our Thursday maintenance for those that want to continue to play Breach, and we hope to provide more information soon.

The post also includes a brief FAQ:

  • When will the service close?

When we’re turning off the servers and closing access to the game is still being determined. We’ll post more information here, once it becomes available.

  • I recently made a purchase; how do I go about getting my money back?

If you made your purchase through Steam, purchases and refunds are managed by Steam. Please contact Steam support for assistance.

If your purchase was made through En Masse, please contact QC Games support.

  • What does this mean for the future of Breach?

The game can be played for now, and we will post more information about the future of the service once it becomes available.

  • Will I be able to still make in-game purchases for Breach?

Purchases for Breach will be turned off for now, starting April 4 after server maintenance.
