Rainbow Six Siege Achieves 25 Million Players

RAINBOW SIX SIEGE

Ubisoft has announced that Rainbow Six Siege has achieved a big milestone with over 25M players taking part since launch. The announcement was made just ahead of the launch of the White Noise DLC. This is a big deal given the rough start the game had when it launched two years ago.

Eurogamer attributes the explosive growth to Ubisoft’s consistent release of seasonal content. This includes new maps and special forces characters that come from many regions around the world. These can be unlocked by players purchasing the option.

Rainbow Six Siege: White Noise

White Noise is the last update for Year 2. Year 3 is called Operation Chimera and reminds a lot of folks of The Division with its emphasis on biohazards and quarantines. All players will gain access to Outbreak, a free event coming in Year 3.

For Year 2 Pass holders, all three new Operators and signature weapon skins are available starting today for immediate unlock at no additional cost. This includes two from the 707th Special Mission Battalion, Dokkaebi and Vigil, and the second Specialist from Poland’s counter-terrorism unit GROM, Zofia Bosak. All bring unique abilities and special gadgets, so be sure to test them out. Season Pass holders enjoy exclusive access for seven days, before these Operators become available for everyone to unlock with Renown or R6 Credits on December 12th.
