RAPTR is a social-networking website with instant messenger used by video-game players across the globe. Partnering with developers also allowed players to track gameplay as well as share their experiences and become involved in official promotions.
Co-founder and CEO Dennis “Thrasher” Fong announced on September 1st that it is closing on September 30th, 2017 though Plays.tv users will not be affected as Plays.tv launched as an independent company in January of this year.
The main reason Mr. Fong explained why it is closing is because gaming developers are now implementing their own platforms to deliver the same service, making a stand alone platform less needed.
This closure may come as no surprise to many long-time users including myself who remains fond of one of the cutest pets still in one of my favorite MMORPG’s of all time, received in 2012.
Wishing everyone at RAPTR all the best!
